Success is not final. Failure is not total. It is the courage to continue that counts.
–Winston Churchill
We all aspire to live a fulfilling life. Depending on one’s background and socioeconomic status, achievement of this goal might be far away. Some of us might even believe it is impossible. Fortunately, I never did! I come from a developing country and today I am a Research Scientist at the best institute in Japan, where I work at the most powerful heavy ion accelerator in the world. I was able to overcome my difficulties to realise my dream- so can you!
In this blog, I will share my journey and my struggles as a North African woman in science. I will also share the challenges I face everyday in a Japanese work environment.
Main topics of this Blog:
- Women in Science
- Work life in Japan
I hope you can believe that living a fulfilling life is possible. I will do my best to make your journey shorter by distilling the most important lessons I learned from my own experience, and from the experiences of the wonderful people I met along the way.
Enjoy the journey, it is by far more interesting than the destination!
